Cry For Eternity redone ch.1

CRY FOR ETERNITY PT.1


The raven haired Viera female wove her way through the crowded streets of Dalmasca. The city was unusually crowded today. 'I wonder what could be going on...' The Viera, whose name was Rayn, wondered to herself.  She had never seen the streets this crowded.  She tried to look over the heads of the crowd to get a better look, but found it impossible. Rayn was a Biani Viera, and had come from the cave systems of the Paramina Rift. Unlike their tanned cousins who resided inside the wood, Biani Viera were actually no taller than a relatively tall Human female. At that moment, Rayn was cursing her short stature at that moment. Also unlike their cousins, Biani Viera where pale, mainly because it was constantly winter in Paramina. They also almost always had either brown or black hair instead of white. It was very rare for a Biani to be born with red or blond hair.
Rayn's large lavender eyes scanned the faces in the crowd, looking for the familiar face of her best friend, a Valkyrian woman named Saya. Valkyrians were somewhat similar to Vieras. But instead of rabbit ears, Valkyrians had wolf ears. The land of Valkyria was even more remote than Paramina.
Suddenly, through a gap in the crowd, Rayn saw a woman with long chestnut hair kneeling down to adjust her boot. This woman had wolf ears.
"Saya!" Rayn shouted as she ran towards her friend.
Upon hearing her name, Saya's wolf ears twitched. Saya straightened and looked with amusement in her silver eyes at the Viera woman running towards her. Finally reaching her Valkyrian friend, Rayn smiled broadly.
"There you are!" She said, panting slightly. "I've been looking everywhere for you!"
"Sorry." Saya said with a chuckle.
"Where were you, Saya?"
"Uh...well..."
"Wait a minute," Rayn said, arms crossed over her chest. "You wouldn't happen to have been with Drace, would you?"  
Saya blushed.
"I knew it!" Rayne laughed. "So...Did you two have FUN?" Rayn said with a suggestive nudge. Saya scowled and punched Rayn in the arm.
"OW!" Rayn said, rubbing her injured arm. "That hurt!"
"Good!"
Rayn stuck out her tongue at her Valkyrian friend.
"So what's going on?" The Viera asked, looking at the crowd of people.
"Drace told me that the Archadian Consule is supposed to give a speech."
"An Archadian?" Rayn raised an eyebrow. "This oughta be good."
After some random Archadian dude(Who must have been REALLY hot in his armor)
finished talking and stepped down, a handsome man with dark brown hair appeared. (Guess who!) He was greeted with cries of "Get outta here!" and "Go back to Archadia!"
Hearing a soft growl, Rayn turned her head to see Saya directing her 'Saya death glare' at the Archadian man. "Saya?" Rayn asked. "Saya, whats-"
"Asshole."
"What?"
"Asshole. that man is an asshole."
"Who is he?"
"His  name is Vayne Solidor."
"Why do you hate him?"
"Lets just say it's a LONG story."
"Oh..."
Not really listening to his speech, Rayn found it nearly impossible to keep her eyes of him. There was something about him that, for lack of a better word, intrigued her.
"Enough of this crap." Saya said. "I'm leaving. you coming Rayn?"
"Huh?" Rayn's head snapped to the side to look a t Saya. "Um...yeah. I'm coming."
Following Saya, Rayn stole one last look at the man.
Before she rounded the corner, Rayn's violet eyes locked for one moment with the stormy gray eyes of the Archadian Consule.
She should have realized that that briefest of moments was the moment that would change her life forever.
